A picture for a winter’s day, when being inside looking out is preferable to facing the weather.
There are still a few of this edition left, I made the first ones for an exhibition titled, “through the window” for @westendhousegallery many years ago, I have since made a few a year and as they sell I make a few more, I am nearly at the end of the edition now, they are all a little different due to my inability to make an identical edition, I just can’t help playing, adding bits or changing colours as I go.
Is this a problem my fellow printmakers have?

I am always drawn to Hellebores, they are winters survivors - subtle, strong, and quietly dramatic. Yet another flower I like to draw on repeat.

1. This year has been shaped by quiet work, repeated looking, and time spent with flowers and familiar objects. 2. Making art continues to teach me patience, allowing images to emerge through process rather than force.
3. Teaching @westdeancollege and @ochreprint has been an incredibly rewarding experience, I have enjoyed the joy and creativity of my students
4. I’m grateful for the galleries and art societies who support my work, I feel truly lucky to be able to do what I do and I rely on their support to enable me to make work
5. It’s been an amazing year for trying new media, there is so much to learn but I am hoping 2026 will be the year I finally make that sculpture that’s been in my head for so long!

Dandelions pushing their way through the concrete — golden, bright, unapologetic. Wonderful golden weeds popping up uninvited but clearly meant to be.
Painting them in front of such an iconic building as St Pauls felt like celebrating the small, the overlooked, the wild. First made for an exhibition celebrating London @forartssake

“Stories in Bloom” – Commission Piece

This piece was such a joy to make, celebrating favourite flowers and well-loved bottles, each associated with a different family member, even the shelf was based on a piece of stained glass from the family house.
As the commission began I could almost see the memories hovering around the objects.
Bringing those pieces together felt like telling a story.

If you could choose flowers or objects to tell your story, what would they be? I’m always curious what people would include.

I have also spent the morning wrestling with my website — honestly, it’s like pulling teeth! Comments and rants welcome, hopefully you will make me feel better.

This dahlia is a monotype print—a one-of-a-kind piece created in a single impression. Unlike editions, no two monotypes can ever be the same, which makes this print completely unique.

Do you prefer art that comes in editions, or do you love the idea of a one-off, never-to-be-repeated piece? I often wonder this as I struggle to make an identical edition, and drive my galleries crazy that no two are the same

As the season shifts, I’ve been looking through my collection of works, this piece feels very appropriate - seed heads, fading flowers, butterflies, pebbles. Each piece feels like a keepsake from summer walks.
I love the autumn it’s good to be in the studio as the weather gets cooler.
I have just added this piece to my website, finally got round to doing some updating, medium sized pictures are now all autumnal!

So many memories of summers in Pembrokeshire on beaches looking in rock pools with a net, bucket and the observer guide to the seashore, while the parents were in the pub!
I still love a rock pool and these on #innisoirr @aranislands.ie were just beautiful, if only I painted abstracts
