I am a painter/printmaker inspired by wild flowers and weeds.

Find out about my work, visit my next exhibition or buy an original print from the gallery
One of the loveliest parts of being an artist is hearing that a piece has safely arrived in its new home.

This message arrived from Germany this week after I sent a print which is going to be given as a surprise present:

“The picture arrived today. It is so beautiful! I’m certain she will love it, Thank you so much for carefully wrapping the parcel and, of course, for your words and the cards”

It is always rather wonderful to think that something created here in my studio will soon become part of someone else’s story, and I’m so grateful when collectors take the time to let me know that a piece has arrived safely.

Sending artwork overseas can sometimes feel a little daunting, but messages like this make it all worthwhile.

I do hope she loves her surprise.

I’ve always loved agapanthus. There is something so satisfying about drawing them – from those tightly furled buds to the exuberant flowers and finally the beautiful sculptural seed heads.

Many years ago I created a series of triptychs following flowers from bud to bloom, or bud to seed. This agapanthus piece was among my favourites and the edition sold out long ago.

It suddenly occurred to me... does anyone here own one? I’d love to see where they ended up, so if you do, please share a photo in the comments or send me a message!

Even now I keep returning to agapanthus as a subject. They have such a wonderful architectural quality and I never seem to tire of drawing them.

The large agapanthus blue giant is still available on my website, 76.5 x 57.5 cms, £750.00

Do you have a favourite flower that you never tire of seeing in the garden?

Well, what started as one commission-inspired thistle has turned into four!

I simply couldn’t decide which design I liked best, so I kept developing the idea until I had four new thistle pieces. They’ll all be added to the website this week, with the final design currently being transformed into a cut-out piece that I’m painting up now.

It’s funny how often creativity has its own plans. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t making the work – it’s deciding which version to stop at!

A big thank you to @wills_art_warehouse for featuring my artwork in their recent newsletter.
I have been with this gallery for many years and I am so appreciative of all that my galleries do for me and for being such an important part of my creative path.
Selling is not my strong point and their support enables me to do what I do best 🥰

Feeling incredibly lucky to have such amazing galleries supporting my work over so many years. Just sold “The Last Echinacea” and “Spring Tonic” at The Moreton Gallery in the Cotswolds

A big shoutout to all the galleries who champion artists—promoting our work, connecting us with collectors, and making it possible for us to keep creating. Your support truly keeps the artists in the studio where we want to be!

A much needed change next weekend as I am off to West Dean to teach, time to engage with people rather than my usual solitary existence as an artist. Quite the adventure!
Lots of planning and prep to do over the next few days, teaching is always so much more than the hours spent with students.
If you’ve been thinking about joining, there are still 2 places left. Take a look at the West Dean College website for more info

A really special full-circle moment ✨

About 15 years ago, a lovely couple bought a few of my pieces from The Mackenzie Gallery in Teddington (now sadly closed). Those paintings have been part of their home ever since… quietly living alongside them, becoming part of their story.

And this week, they came back and found me again — and chose two more pieces to take home.

I always think about how art goes on to have its own life with people, but moments like this feel extra meaningful. So grateful that the work has stayed with them all these years, and that I get to be a small part of their home once again

Thank you for coming back.
Last weekend here at the Fountain gallery, closes Sunday 12th 5pm

A little midweek reminder 🌸

Flora and Form is in its final days, and the response has been amazing — thank you to everyone who has already bought work and supported the show. It’s always such a joy meeting people and chatting about art and printmaking, I am always ready to talk about the process, everything is made by hand on the walls or in the browsers! All original pieces.

If you’re nearby, come and visit The Fountain Gallery on Bridge Road, Hampton Court — make a day of it with all the lovely cafés and shops, and enjoy a relaxed browse.

Open daily 11–5 until Sunday 12th.

Great news from Flora and Form!

We’ve had a wonderful, sunny Easter weekend with quite a few sales, these two pictures are off to Spain! — thank you so much to everyone who came along and supported the exhibition.

With lots of work now finding new homes, we’ll be having a rehang for the final week, so there’ll be plenty of new pieces to see.

Do pop in and say hello — we’re open every day, 11–5, until Sunday 12th.

Hope to see you there!
Sunshine, spontaneity… and a red dot ✨

Normally closed on Mondays, but this beautiful Easter Monday felt too good to miss—so I opened the doors to The Fountain Gallery for the afternoon… and this stunning piece found its new home. Moments like this remind me why I do what I do.

I’m very pleased to be joined in this exhibition by guest artist ceramic artist Roya Pourzadi ✨

Her beautifully crafted vessels echo the same sense of balance and simplicity found in nature, adding a sculptural dimension to the show.

The combination of ceramics, prints and paintings creates a really special dialogue in the space.

Open this week

What a wonderful evening at the Meet the Artist event at The Fountain Gallery

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, took the time to chat, and supported us—it truly meant so much. I’m so grateful for the warmth in the room and all the lovely conversations throughout the night.

Apologies for getting a little emotional (and completely losing my voice 🙈)… thankfully the amazing Roya, my fellow exhibitor, stepped in and spoke so beautifully on behalf of us both 💛

It was such a special evening and one I won’t forget anytime soon.

The exhibition is on until 12th April, so if you haven’t had a chance yet, please do come along—I’d love for you to see it ✨

I love a thistle, I am overjoyed that today two of these prints have found homes with new collectors, and I’ve even been commissioned for a third—what a week!

Thistles have always been one of my favourite flowers to draw—the contrast between their sharp, spiky leaves and those beautifully soft blooms never gets old.

As ever each picture is unique and each edition variable. The spear thistle with the cream ground has sold, the softer grey background is now the only one left in the edition—once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Which is your favourite—bold and spiky or soft and delicate?

It’s a wrap! Time to take a breath and get back in the studio as this year’s RBA Exhibition comes to a close at the Mall Galleries. ✨

Grateful to have been part of such an inspiring show alongside so many talented artists. The past weeks have been filled with incredible conversations, beautiful work, and the shared celebration of art in all its forms.

Thank you to everyone who visited, supported, and spent time with the exhibition — it means more than you know. Until next year.

On the hanging team this week for the @royalsocbritishartists Annual Exhibition 🎨

Working alongside @anthonyyatesrba @portelliguy @lund57 @hunadamoglu @martin_langford_printmaker to bring the show together — and today I’ve been trusted with the small picture wall

It’s always a puzzle of rhythm, balance, and tiny adjustments… but when it clicks, it sings.

Grateful to be part of the behind-the-scenes magic that turns a gallery into an exhibition.
